I grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I’m fortunate my parents were mountaineers; I was camping before I knew how to walk and hiking not long after. As I grew older and life grew tougher, nature became my holy place and photography a means of honoring and sharing it. Along with music, photography helped me stay attached to life and keep perspective through some dark waters.

I’ve since lived in different parts of the country and have traveled and taught in Europe a few times. I first went to college for sustainable design but ended up studying fine art, consciousness and psychology. I’m drawn to introspective, emotional art as well as minimal, natural aesthetics. For myself as well as through my work, I try to encourage reflection, gratitude and authentic expression.

We live on such a diverse planet filled with billions of micro worlds interweaving amongst one another. Taking time to explore life’s complexities as well as its simplicities can be so powerful. I like being a part of that.
